Parents are encouraged to sign up for the Here Comes the Bus app, which provides live updates on your child’s bus location and arrival times.

This Sunday in Lac La Biche, our staff had the privilege of taking part in all the ministries during Mass as we were welcomed into the St. Catherine’s Parish community.

Today we celebrate the Feast of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, whose life reminds us that God’s presence can be found in simple, everyday acts. Her words, ‘Do small things with great love,’ will guide our faith journey from 2025–2029 as we live out this message in our schools and communities.

🚌 Important School Bus Safety Tips
When red lights flash — STOP. No passing from either direction.
Arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes early
Stay 3 metres back until the bus is at a full stop
Use handrails and take five big steps away after exiting
Stay seated and keep aisles clear on the bus
Drivers: It’s illegal to pass a bus with flashing red lights | Be prepared to stop when you see the amber lights

Thanks to Carter, the very first act of kindness has found its place on our “Doing Small Things with Great Love” bulletin board! This is just the beginning — we know our students will quickly fill it with moments that reflect Christ’s love in action, moments that show what makes Light of Christ Catholic School shine!
Yesterday, every member of the Lakeland Catholic team took part in Pathways to Excellence — the first in a series of professional learning days planned for this school year.
This opening session brought together every staff member for a day of learning, collaboration, and faith-filled preparation, reflecting our commitment to excellence and our faith theme, small things done with great love.
With opportunities spanning instruction, technology, wellness, safety, and more, the day strengthened our shared dedication to creating caring, faith-filled, and engaging learning environments as we welcome students back to school tomorrow.

Teachers have been preparing classrooms, office staff organizing materials, and custodians making sure the school is clean, safe, and inviting for the first day. Along with Superintendent Sheldon Germain, the entire team has been working together with “small things done with great love” to create a warm start to the school year.
Join us to meet the staff, tour the school, drop off supplies, enjoy a free BBQ, and get set for a great beginning to 2025–2026.
