Lakeland Catholic Trustees recently met with students at Light of Christ Catholic School as part of LCSD's Student/Board Engagement meetings.
Students shared how faith and a welcoming culture make Light of Christ a place where students feel supported and encouraged to grow.
Students also spoke with excitement about the future new school building and the opportunities it will bring for students and families in Lac La Biche for generations to come!

Catherine Marabelio, a student assistant at Light of Christ Catholic School in Lac La Biche, is being recognized for the care and support she brings to students each day—especially those who need it most.
Through her work in literacy programming, Catherine helps build student confidence and supports meaningful growth in learning. Her deep faith is reflected in her regular Mass attendance and volunteer service, strengthening the connection between school and parish.

Students were buzzing this week as they explored Bunny’s Noisy Book. The energy in the room was incredible as learners worked together to build vocabulary and used a Grammar Matrix to sort new words into nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs.
From dramatic sneezes and giant stretches to quiet yawns, these students brought the story to life with energy and enthusiasm.
