Today, we celebrated a very special milestone as our Kindergarten students shared songs, smiles, memories, and accomplishments with family, friends, and staff.
These young learners have grown in faith, friendship, confidence, and knowledge throughout the year, and we are so proud of all they have achieved. They are a reminder of the joy, wonder, and promise that children bring to our schools each day.
The celebration was made even more meaningful with special guests Deputy Superintendent of System Excellence Jody Seymour and Father Anselmo, who offered prayers and blessings as students prepare for the next step in their educational journey.
As Jesus reminds us:
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." — Matthew 19:14
May God continue to bless each of these students as they learn, grow, and shine.

Friday’s graduation celebration brought together family, friends, staff, and community members to honour Anika’s accomplishments and this important milestone in her life. Father Anselmo led the community in a beautiful Graduation Mass, reminding us that God’s Word equips us “for every good work” and inviting us to continue in what we have learned and firmly believed.
Lakeland Catholic School Division was honoured to celebrate alongside Deputy Superintendent Jody Seymour and Trustees Dana Chaulk and Donna Cloutier, who joined the Light of Christ community in recognizing Anika’s hard work and perseverance.
Throughout her years at Light of Christ, Anika has grown, served, and quietly built a life rooted in faith, community, and hard work—helping with cold lunches, supporting younger students, and forming real bonds with staff. These “small things” are exactly the kind of daily good works that shape a Christian life.
As she steps into “new places” in college, work, and all the dreams ahead, we pray that Anika will keep the heart she has shown here: a heart that works hard, loves her family, notices others, and trusts that God walks with her in every brave step; and that she will always remember she is the Light of Christ in the world.

As the final school review of the 2025–2026 school year, this important process provided an opportunity to celebrate the many ways Catholic identity is lived out through faith formation, learning, service, and community life.
Led by Lakeland Catholic’s System Excellence team and aligned with the Bishop’s Assurance Framework, the review highlighted the school’s faith-filled strengths while identifying opportunities for continued growth and excellence in Catholic education.
Superintendent Germain and Deputy Superintendent Seymour were also blessed and delighted to welcome and host their partners Jo‑Anne Lanctot, Superintendent, and Ashley Floyd, Director of Teaching & Learning from Living Waters Catholic School Division, as well as Assistant Superintendent of Faith and Educational Services, Liberty Stafford, together with two principals from East Central Catholic School Division.
These partners joined the System Excellence Team during the Catholic School Review as they prepare to implement a similar process in their own divisions this fall.
